Steve’s Landing Restaurant is Open!

By Georgia Osten
At Last, Steve’s Landing has opened it’s doors to the public! If you’re living on the peninsula or a frequent visitor, you know that we’ve all been anticipating this for quite awhile. And, the place is fantastic! Davin Patel gave us the Executive Tour through all the outside decks, the bar, the private dining room, the entire spacious restaurant, and the kitchen, where Chef Jenardo Cruz hangs out. Plan your next dining experience at Steve’s, sit on the deck in the swings overlooking the Intracoastal, or cozy up to the bar in the middle of the room under the Tiki Man-carved palm trees.

This Summer, Steve’s is open Monday-Thursday, 11 am to 11 pm and Friday-Sunday, enjoy dining until 11 pm, and the bar is open until 2 am. The restaurant seats 300.

Steve’s Landing is located at the end of Bay Vue Road on the Intracoastal Canal, telephone 409-684-1999.

Steve's Landing management and staff welcome you

Patrons (L to R) Maddie Bird, Kay Beard, Bonnie Brown, and Bobby Beard ready to enjoy their meal with a fabulous view of the Intracoastal Canal

Beautiful restaurant, don’t care for Sysco. If I am going to drive to eat seafood I want the real deal.

My husband and I went Sunday afternoon July 14th and enjoyed great drinks, food and service.
I think most people who had a bad experience were there on a very busy weekend and perhaps should consider going back on less busy day and give them another chance. We will be going back, so glad it’s reopened.

For those complaining that they had a bad experience the OPENING WEEK of the restaurant, you should give them another chance. It’s a general rule to give a new restaurant a couple weeks to a month after they open to work out any snags and get into their groove. Seems like a beautiful room and a great staff. We’re going to check them out in a couple weeks when they’ve had a chance to settle in and aren’t getting slammed with customers before we form an opinion and post a review.

Sorry. If you’re in the business then do it right. recruit the right people and/or train them. What you say is like proposing that it’s acceptable for a new airline to have crashes untill they get the bugs ironed out. This is just poor preparation and lots of excuses.

Great Food. I don’t know what some people are talking about on here. Had amazing drinks and great service. Definitely go there again.

Had Dinner there Sunday night with family (5 of us). Things were a little disorganized but everyone was really nice and looked like they were working very hard!
We will go back…We are waiting till things settle down after opening on such a busy weekend.

Best of luck to them all. I appreciate the owners taking a risk and investing in the Bolivar Peninsula!!

Went this past weekend & will NEVER go back. Had a reservation & still had to wait for a table. Finally got seated & waited another 30 mins for someone to take our drink order. When we FINALLY got to order & got our food, it was cold, one platter was under cooked, one person’s food didn’t arrive, salad was warm, we were told they were out of crackers for the gumbo, they ran out of Dr. Pepper, the waitress asked if we were through with our glasses because they didn’t have anymore for other customers, the ladies restrooms were overflowing in the floor, & men’s restroom desperately needed attention. If a business isn’t ready to open, then DON’T. Very bad experience for us. You can find us at Coconuts from now on.

  12. Satchel Family says:

Was SO displeased. Waited 2 hours for food that was cold, wrong orders, out of items, asked for our glasses because they had run out for other customers, toilets were overflowing. Will NOT go back ever. Coconuts is the place for our family.

What a joke – RUDE hostess downstairs,we are a home owner in Bolivar and will never be back. After being told we needed a reservation at 5:00 in the evening and only two cars in the parking lot, are you kidding me. After reading the reviews glad we were turned away – Hope when the summer is over and you need the business they don’t show up. RUDENESS will never be tolirated and there are other GREAT eating establishment in Bolivar that deserve my money.

  14. Debbie Hughes says:

Was real disappointed, Went on Sunday around 12:30 in the afternoon. Was one couple in front of us. There were a lot empty tables. Was told it would be a 15 minute wait. About 10 minutes later hostess told us it would be an hour wait instead. We probably would have stayed if not for the fact of the many empty tables. We are full time residents, and will not go back. I hope they can sustain the business in the off season. Had several of my neighbors leave also because of the similar circumstances.

We were at our beach house for week of July 4th, seven of us went to Steve’s Landing Friday night to eat was turned away without a reservation you are not getting in and was disappointed when girl at Steve’s said would be like this all summer sounded as though they only wants groups of 15 or more. So went to Stingarees and had wonderful diner had to wait but was expected with crowd on peninsula this week…wont be returning to Steve’s as well as two groups who also walked out being turned away also.. They just lost our business and we go to beach house twice a month.

  16. Brenda Beust Smith says:

So excited Steve’s is back! Really missed it. The new restaurant is beautifully done. The food was good, everyone was so happy and the waitstaff was great. Now, Bill & I just have to remember to go earlier so we can get a window table!

Ray & I just got back from lunch at Steve’s Landing and boy, what a treat. We sat at the tables on the deck–colorful beach colored directors chairs and beach umbrellas–and watched the barges and speed boats go by on the Intracoastal. The food is great, and David, one of the owners, visited us to make sure everything was to our liking; it was. Our server was Karen and she would lace in little tidbits about Bolivar history as she took our order. The bartender (sorry, didn’t catch her name) makes out-of-this-world Mimosas and Mojitos. This is already a favorite of ours and will become a big draw for Ray to get out here on his long weekends.

  20. Trace Hammond says:

Glad to have Steve’s Landing back at Crystal Beach. Had dinner there on opening night and the food and service were great. Awesome atmosphere.
