The Sunshine State

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
Lookout Florida, here we come! Precious cargo, our Granddaughter, Addyson, and her two pups, plus Maezy.
We left the beach at 3:30 am, heading to the East Coast. Oh my goodness, sheets of rain to Winnie, lighting so close and strong, you were actually blinded as if a spotlight went off in your eyes. It took approximately 20 minutes longer to get to Winnie than normal.

It’s all good, 16 hours later, we arrived at the kids’ new home in Tampa, Florida. The Mom & Dad and two boys arrived almost a week ago, they’ve had plenty of time to receive the new couches and beds, install ceiling fans, buy a few pots and pans, glasses, paper plates and stuff, enough to get by until the first shipment arrives from Israel in a few days.

From what the realtor told us, the house was built in 1938, but the neighbor next door said his father-in-law was born in this house in the 20’s. Holy Cow! It’s a charming newly renovated home. Wishing these walls could talk and tell us all about the history.

The guys picked up the barbeque pit this morning, just in time for some 4th of July BBQ!

Oh, here’s a picture of Maezy with Dax, she’s happy to be out of the car.

Brand new rockers assembled for the front porch with some plants we purchased yesterday.

We’re here for the week. School uniform shopping to do tomorrow, putting away first shipment stuff on Wednesday. There’s a Trader Joe’s just minutes away from home, I’m going back for some wonderful peach wine, peaches and the biggest artichokes I think I’ve ever seen! We should have a big ol’ steaming pot by then in our shipment!

We had our own special fireworks show right next door last night. It seems they’re legal in the city limits, go figure! Thank goodness I’m somewhat immune to the noise already.

Here’s hoping you all had a wonderful 4th.
