Tiki Man moves “Downtown”

tiki_0Tiki Man moves “back” to Downtown Crystal Beach! Everyone knows Kevin Kavanagh as the Tiki Man. He has been located on the corner of Hwy 87 and Jacks Road for years. But now that the property has been sold, he has found a new home for his creations. Find the Tiki Man at the corner of Hwy 87 and Crystal Beach Road in “Downtown Crystal Beach.” He believes this move will more than double his sales, so he’s looking forward to the customers and steady work ahead.

Kavanagh had been looking for alternative locations for years. He would check it out and nothing felt quite right, “I got out of my truck, kicked the dirt, sniffed the air and looked around…trying to visualize myself there, and I couldn’t.” And then he found his new corner and it was right. He knows that as long as he’s a good steward of the property, he could probably stay there forever. “This is the greatest corner!”

As his dog, Annabelle, tries to get a word in edgewise, Kavanagh explains that he continues to promote other artists’ work, as well as his own. Tiki Man specializes in surfer guys, mermaids, sea captains and of course, tikis. They can be custom painted by Ellen. And he continues to promote Christian’s work who has a lot and will set up shop, home, and a business. Tiki Man and Christian will have items at both locations. He jokes, “I guess you call that a franchise…a good ole boys franchise.”

Things are looking good for our local Tiki Man. He’s happy, successful, and enjoying it all. Even looking forward to getting married with a trip to Costa Rica to celebrate.
