Traveling Grandparents

Gone are the days of carry-on luggage. Especially when Grandma and PawPaw are going on a trip to visit the Grandkids. The four night trip now requires the biggest suitcase we own, coming home that is! The suitcase barely weighed 10 lbs for the trip there. Which brings up another point…why did our luggage go through security check on the way there?? Yep, we arrive, and my bath powder has been turned upside down, everything is askew, and the Security Form is placed in there as proof.

Anyway, as I was saying, there’s always so much to do and shop for when we get to our destination. Our Saturday trip, two strollers, snacks, the perfect parking spot ($3), was to the fantastic semi-yearly Antique Market in Cameron, North Carolina! If you’re ever there in October or May, don’t miss it!

PawPaw celebrated a birthday while we were there too, so, plenty of birthday gifts to bring back home. Needless to say, the suitcase wouldn’t fit all our “coming home” goodies, which we knew and which is why we brought the largest one we have…so we packed and mailed three boxes back home to Crystal Beach. It’s becoming a habit. I remember when we traveled to California for a visit and packed and sent boxes of artichokes home. That’s another story…Guess what, the suitcase was Security Checked again on the way home. Maybe it’s the red bow tied to the handle for identification? It sets off an alarm of some sort: “Beware of Traveling Grandparents!”

To our North Carolina family, We miss you already! Love, Grandma & PawPaw.
