Weddings

I guess there’s something to be said for weddings – they are quite enjoyable when they’re not your own. I mean, when you don’t have to pay for them. Wait, that doesn’t sound right either. What I mean is to just go to a wedding to enjoy it and not have to perform or worry about the food, the flowers, dresses, parking, any of that stuff. We had a lovely time at the wedding of our close friends’ daughter this past weekend. We stayed in a hotel, so no worries about getting back home that evening. Another good thing is that this will be the first of two, they have another daughter who should follow in probably less than two years. Our dear friends attended and actually were the official photographers at all three of our kids’ weddings.

I think of all the things I’d do differently if I had it all to do over again (which should NEVER happen). For one thing, I would try to NOT sweat the small stuff. I’d take more time to appreciate all the people who turned out to help us celebrate such a wonderful statement in our kids’ lives. I’d worry less about how my outfit stacked up against the other Mother of the Bride/Groom. I’d take time to sit down and enjoy the wonderful food and the fabulous wedding cake. Last of all, I’d have that wonderful DJ/Michael Buble fellow they had at the wedding Friday night, and I’d dance all night long!!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.

    Georgia and Tom,
It was great to see you both at the wedding. I wish I was able to spend more time with you both but it was a little hectic as you well know.

Thanks so much for the comments in the article above. We love you both and hope to see you again soon!
