What’s a Mom to do?

By Georgia Osten
It’s Monday, thank goodness, I can go back to work where I can sit for 5 hours and rest! The sun made a rare appearance this weekend, beginning on Saturday afternoon and stayed up all through Sunday. When the sun is out, you can’t help but be energized and want to get out there with it! The garden is badly in need of an overhaul, so off I went to The Big Store to see what they might have to help rejuvenate this tired old soil. Three bags of compost and 2 huge bags of garden soil and back home I went to weed this monster.

Thank goodness it’s a raised bed so I don’t to bend over quite as far, but boy oh boy, the backs of my legs (and a little higher than that) sure took a beating. I managed to get all the way around the garden and now, all that’s lacking is smack dab in the middle. Thank goodness a friend stopped by so I could take a breather. That chore will eventually be ready for the fun part – PLANTING. In the meantime, Sweat Fitness will have to take a back burner to my workouts.

The garden wasn’t the only thing in need of attention, the car got hand-washed and the inside totally vacuumed out. Even Maezy got a bath. She desperately needs a haircut, but if she sees me with the scissors, she runs and hides.

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
