The crown is down

The top section of the famous Bolivar Point Lighthouse has been removed. A huge crane carrying a custom built lifting structure attached to the lantern room and lowered it safely to the ground. Due to deterioration over the years, this segment will require extensive repairs. Here is a video provided by Bolivar Live showing the removal and lowering of the section.

THE BOLIVAR POINT LIGHTHOUSE FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) is a Texas based non-profit historic preservation organization dedicated to saving the 1872 Bolivar Point Lighthouse and sharing its legacy.
