An Evening at the Smith Oaks Rookery

Smith Oaks Rookery is in full swing with Spring migration and nesting for our wonderful birds. Come on out and join the Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation for a very informative evening with our own Winnie Burkett, a biologist specializing in Ornithology, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 4 – 7 PM.. We meet at 2205 Old Mexico Rd. in High Island at the old Pump House, check in, get some light refreshments and prepare to see and hear some amazing sights and sounds. If you’ve never been to the Smith Oaks Rookery, you owe it to yourself to do it at least once in your life, especially during the Spring.

Don’t forget your mosquito spray!

The Houston Audubon does a wonderful job of maintaining this facility so check out their webpage – Smith Oaks Sanctuary, and then contact us if you’d like to be included in our event. Please check the flyer for all the details. Hope to see you there and don’t forget your chairs, binoculars and cameras!
