Bridgette Gearen Press Conference

On July 15th, the fifth anniversary of her death, family and friends of Bridgette Gearen gathered in Crystal Beach for a press conference hosted by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. Lt. Tommy Hansen, lead investigator for the case, honored the family of Bridgette and assured everyone that this is not a cold case. Said Lt. Hansen, “this is one of the most horrific cases I ever worked.”

Working closely with the FBI, they now have strong suspects, and the suspects are fully aware they are being investigated. Although there is no specific timeline given, Lt. Hansen remarked, “there is a solvability factor.”

FAMILY’S PLEA

If you are someone who knows something and you haven’t come forward with the information, we, the family, are pleading with you to come forward.

I know you may be scared and I don’t blame you. But the men who committed this unimaginable crime are free. I believe it’s only a matter of time before they do this again to someone else. You may be the one person that can stop this from happening again. If it happens again, do you think you can live with that?

This haunts us every day. We mourn every day. We ask why every day. We wait for justice every day. Our hearts ache for her little girl every day.

This case being solved will not change that she is gone. It will not change what happened and how it happened. It will not give back a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, or a friend. But if this can be prevented from happening again, it may save another family from the indescribable pain that this brings.

The men that did this should not be able to walk free among us. They need to pay for what they did. Although I know they will answer to God when the time comes and His punishment will be far worse than any punishment a judge could give, I would like to witness their freedom being taken from them.

Please come forward with any information you may have about this.

Sincerely,
Family of Bridgette Gearen
