Captain Bryan’s Fishing Report, 9-27-22

By Captain Bryan Brawner
For most of the summer, specks have been on the small side in East Bay with lots of anglers having difficulty putting together a box of keepers there. That will probably hold true until there is a major cool off at some point. However, reds have taken up the slack with lots of schools of oversized and slot reds from the Intracostal, marsh lakes, and western mid bay areas. Galveston west bay, jetties, and gas wells are good now. Right now on calmer days, the beachfront offers some of the best fishing in years. Fronts this week are your opportunity!

Lake Conroe has turned over and has been dirty the last couple of weeks which has slowed the bite for most game species. I have been catching a lot of good keeper channel cats along with a few big blues. The fall bite will be kicking off in a couple of weeks with schools of shad moving to the main lake.

I will be offering some discounted trips for channel catfish and hybrids. Text or email for more information. Check Facebook for up to date reports on what’s biting and specials this Fall!
