The Texas Crab Festival gives local schools an opportunity to participate and raise funds while having fun at the festival. Crenshaw School received a check from the Texas Crab Festival for proceeds from the Lemonade Stand at the Mother’s Day Weekend festival. Each year, students and faculty volunteer to sell lemonade and water at the festival with all proceeds going back to the school. This year there were over 30 volunteers and they sold over 1800 drinks throughout the weekend.
Likewise, students from High Island High School received funds raised at the Crab Races. This money goes to ‘Project Graduation’ – just in time for their end of year party. The entire senior class participated at the festival and now they’re seeing the reward!
The Texas Crab Festival is a community event and it takes the community’s support to make it a success. Thank you to the volunteers and supporters. See you next year!
Awesome job! Thank you, Carlis Cole
