Demise of “Blue Thunder” Fuels Mitchell Resurgence

Ranch Head Golf Pro Mike Mitchell destroyed the driver known as both “Blue Thunder” and the “Green Weenie” on the 9th Tee at the Ranch Saturday after yet another horrible tee shot. As expected by observers, immediate improvement in Mitchell’s game was evident by the Sunday Morning Scramble. Mitchell’s misplaced faith in the “Green Weenie” had driven his game to new lows and it is hoped that the loss will return him to the eighteen handicapper he has always been. John Milby won Tuesday’s Par 3 with a nice three over 30. Dabney Harrison shot 32 to win Thursdays event. At the Sunday scramble, Mike Comeaux, Jason Pettit, and John Nelson fired a 32 to edge Mitchell, David Hoelzer and the Ghost by one shot. Mitchell also shattered his 3-iron Saturday but plans on rehafting the hateful long club in spite of pleas by his friends. Anyone with a gimmee set of clubs less than thirty years old might consider giving them to Mitchell who desperately needs further equipment replacement.
