FaLaLaLaLa!…..too

One of the joys of building Bolivar back is our ability to use our imagination and not be cookie cutter homes. To me half of the fun is making a home my own. Your homes personality should come out as soon as your friends and family cross your threshold. Looking at flea markets and used furniture stores will help build your uniqueness. Painting used pieces white or bright colors will add the warmth will make your beach house your home. This bathroom vanity was a dresser bought at a thrift shop and repainted to reflect the freshness of the home. This homeowner left the beautiful wood grain on the doors and drawer unpainted while the painted sections highlight the shape that makes this cabinet whimsical at the same time. The plumbing is hidden behind the drawer front and still leaves storage in the side cabinets. The beautiful antique mirror and the lights above bring it all together. A piece like this in any home brings that difference that we all want in our homes. Have fun looking for treasures and Happy Hunting!

HOW TO”…Christmas at the beach

With Christmas right around the corner, we beach dwellers have many opportunities to make unique gifts. The wind chime here is made from collected sea glass and a piece of driftwood. Using wire, start wrapping the bottom piece and keep wrapping until you have the length you want. Use eyehooks to attach them to the drift wood. Make sure the driftwood is very dry. Be creative by using different types of wire and mixing some seashells into your design! What a great piece of the beach your family and friends can have year round.
