Fishing Report & Tide Chart For Rollover Pass TX Feb 4 to Feb 11, 2013

Summary: First report for 2013; Mainly hit or miss at the Pass right now with the surf temps shifting from winter to spring. The magic temp is 68 degrees.  As of now temps are fluctuating in the 50/60s. But when bait passes thru the cut the bite improves. Previous runs saw flounder, reds, drum, sand trout, sheepshead, with a few specks showing up. But now the black drum run is on with a few anglers catching both keepers and bulls.

Speckled Trout:
A few beginning to show during warm ups, but most speck action is occurring in East Bay over reefs and mud flats (Size limits: 15 to 25 inches for 10 specks with only one over 25 inches per day as part of the daily limit).
Redfish:
Good when temps are up with lots of slot and bulls hitting. (20 inches to 28 inches for 3 reds, with one over 28 inches when tagged as part of the 3 fish daily slot-limit).
Flounder:
A few keeper flounder being caught along bayside bulkheads. (Nov limit:14inches minimum for 2 flounder per day).
Black Drum:
DRUM RUN is on, REMEMBER, ALL drum under 14inches and over 30 inches MUST be released. ( Limits: 5 per day at 15- 30 inches).
Sheepshead: 
Good and bad but when good it‘s good but when bad it’s bad. (5 fish limit per day, minimum is 15inches ,no maximum).
Sand/Gulf Trout
A few showing up when temps are up (No limits).
Whiting/Croaker
Whiting in the surf providing good action when surf allows- (No Limits).
Crabbing:
A Few blues are in gnawing on anglers baits- Large Crabs are crabbing, come and get them. Size/Limits: must be 5 inches across carapace (point to point). No creel limits, BUT ALL SPONGE CRABS (egged females) MUST BE RELEASED
Stone Crabs:
Right claw only is kept if two are present. Stones with only one claw must be released. Right claw must be 2-1/2 inches from the knuckle before being kept.
