Funding from the Sticker program is again being used to make improvements in beach services on the Bolivar Peninsula. For Fiscal Year 2011-2012, these are the proposed additional services from sticker fund:
25 additional trash barrels, serviced 3 times a week (Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend).
2 additional months of loader rental for seaweed clean-up (currently budget for 4 months).
2 additional port-a-cans serviced 2 times a week (Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend).
3 large Park style Informational signs (safety regs, location, Turtle & Marine Mammal contact info, etc).
48 Informational / law enforcement signs.
Litter law enforcement on weekends (Galveston County Parks).
In addition, part of the sticker funds are being put aside for construction of permanent bathrooms with showers.
