A more effective facebooker

by Erinn Berge/ Hwy87 Media

Looking for a way to increase your likes on your facebook business page? It seems that is one of the main questions I get when working with customers.  How do you

engage customers with Facebook?  The first step is to make sure that you actually have a business page.  Since I last checked, FB won’t let you get a FB Page unless you have a personal page. That doesn’t mean that you actually have to partake in the personal page.  I know many of you really would rather not. That’s OK!  After you have done this, you can create you’re business page and leave your personal page untouched.

Updates are great way to let customers know what is going on.  But questions are rather engaging and have been a proven way to increase likes and traffic to your facebook page.

  • Ask Yes or No questions rather than open ended ones
  • Ask timely questions, relative to a holiday or event coming up
  • Ask questions that gives the reader a choice to choose which side of the fence he or she stands on.
  • Give multiple choice answers to your questions
  • Ask those who might have been to your place of business to post a favorite picture
  • Hold a contest for the best picture.
  • Ask your readers for some tips or ideas they might have about your business.
  • Fill in the blank questions.  Always start out with fill in the blank…then lead to a statement about the day or a past experience at your business or event.

And of course after you have received a bunch of comments and likes, be sure to respond and converse with those folks.  Some good old Facebook hospitality is all it takes.  There are a lot of ways we can engage your current and potential customers.  If you would like to know more ways to get connected, visit Hwy87Media.
