Happy New Year…a little late

Kind of like that horrible commercial, “I’m Back!” The last few weeks have been a little hectic in the Byus house. First we celebrated our 50th Anniversary by going on a cruise with family. Three of the family members had never been on a cruise before, which brought more fun for the rest of us seasoned cruisers. Our 18 year old Grandson knew every inch of the ship before Grandpa and Grandma even got to our room. And then there was our oldest Grandson, he was called to ground Zero! A few weeks before our cruise, Josh, went deer hunting. He used the same bag for packing for the cruise. He left spent gun shells in the bottom of the bag. Security on board this cruise ship IS on top of IT!! Can you say interrogation!!

Grandma’s only request was that we dine every night together. You know us Grandmas, we are always working on manners and getting those young people to try new food. SO proud both grandsons tried something new every evening. Remember when we could eat almost all day and never gain a pound? Those boys grazed 24-7.

When in port, everyone went their own way and that worked out great. The kids had wonderful adventures and the “old folks” had quite time.

Our room was decorated with banners and the front door had a four foot picture gallery from when we met to current. Those kids did good! Friends and family who could not be with us sent wine, and wine and more wine. Wonderful cruise!!

If you have never been on a cruise, try it. Our daughter has always had trouble with waves, even as a very small child when we went fishing. There were a few times coming back to Galveston that it was rocky. Being the trouper she is, she sailed right through it.

Thank you family and friends for making that week a memory never to be forgotten.
