Happy New Years-2013!

New Years is the time of year to look around you and pick a project you have been putting off. For instance if you have been wanting to change the color of a room and just did not feel like doing it, make the resolution that you will have it done by ______ date. By determining just one thing that will make your life better in some way will give you a brighter look at life. Make sure you give it a drop dead date that the project will be done, or it never will. Stick to it! In my case I ask people to come visit for the weekend. That alone MAKES me do what I have been putting off! Here is a before and after that makes simple changes but a huge impact in the feeling of the room! The color of the walls were painted a light blue compared to the grey-green they had. The chair cushions were recovered in a mild yellow-green. The couch was already a slip covered couch and the owners just had to buy a white one to take the place of the Khaki cover. The white brightens up the room and is so very easy to take care of. Any stains can be washed out using bleach in your laundry. This picture does not show the finished project with accessories, but you can definitely see the difference in the feel of the room. The owner was able to use their furniture with a few changes and this new look cost them very little. Do not be afraid. Just do it!

“HOW TO” …New Year’s Resolutions!….Have Fun!

Being at the beach is fun no matter what time of year. This picture shows how your family (after looking at the tide charts) can watch the old year go out and the New Year left standing. The kids love this and depending on where you are on the beach it will be in a different area. Time it right and you can have a toast to the New Year at midnight when the tide comes in! Enjoy the fireworks and keep warm. Next year will be full of surprises and my wish for each of you is a Happy and Healthy 2013!

Here is a tide table for those of you that want to try this! Let me know how it goes! http://freetidetables.com/state/Texas/sid/2310ea23

Thank you for reading this past year. I have enjoyed it!
