Jerry goes to church
by Brenda Cannon Henley

Debbie Valentine posted photos on Sunday of her beloved husband, Jerry Valentine, getting a wish that abundantly came true. He wanted badly to be able to attend the Church of Christ on the Bolivar Peninsula that he pastors. He had been unable to attend because of his ongoing battle with cancer. Debbie thanks William, Talissa, and Marcus Comeaux, and Bubba Nelson, for helping to make Jerry’s dream a reality.

The group carefully banded together to carry Jerry down the tall stairs of his beach house and into a vehicle and then out again at church. “It was a wonderful service,” reported church member Kathie Poulter. “My soul was blessed just to see our pastor in the service. May God bless Jerry Valentine and his faithful family and friends.”

According to a post made by Nick Meyer of the Shore Fishing and Casting Club that Jerry has so loved in the past, the group has come forward with a wonderful donation towards the Jerry Valentine Support Group. The amount raised is $1,135.00 and will go toward medical bills and other expenses the dear family is amassing.

Meyer, on behalf of Jerry and Debbie, and the family, thanked those that contributed to this cause. “This is a wonderful donation towards the fund, and I believe you folks are just the best,” wrote Meyer. “I am so pleased to consider you friends and fellow casters. Thanks again.”
