Lions roared at Jane Long Festival

What a milestone! The Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club celebrated their 2nd Annual Showing at the Jane Long Festival Saturday. Windshield wipers going as fast as they could, we made our way to Fort Travis Park – a little rain wasn’t going to stop us. As the rain slackened, we donned out rain jackets and slushed in the rain to unload our cars. Clean tennis shoes became soaked upon stepping out of the car. Lion Larry Flanagan arrived in the rain with his mega cooker and parked in the reserved Lions spot, #11. All the other designated Lions began to appear with food, paper towels, condiments, chairs, tables, coolers stocked with water and cokes, canopies, you name it, we were ready for another fun-packed day at the 4th Annual Jane Long Festival. The sun came out the hot dogs were sizzling, the sausage on a stick were puffing and the boudin was plumping up. The crowds began to zoom in, everybody became hungry when they smelled these delicious treats! The BP Lions Club is happy to appear at all of these events, it’s all about the exposure, it’s all about giving back to the community.
