This week, I want to thank each and every one of you for reading my articles this last year! I have a lot to be thankful for. Being able to live in this wonderful place is one of the main reasons. Another is that you cannot help but have a smile on your face when you are watching the birds on the beach and hearing the waves crashing on the shore. The beach is the best tranquilizer out there. This is natural healing at its best! Living here this past year I have learned a lot about living on the Peninsula. I thought I would have to go to Galveston often to get what I need. Wrong. I found out that we have everything that is needed at the Big Store. 
The Big store is known as the place to get everything! A grocery store, hardware store, hairdresser and tons of anything a tourist may need! The restaurants on the Peninsula are wonderful. You have a choice of everything from Subway, Stingrees for wonderful seafood, to Fantasea BBQ, a fun place with awesome food. We also have Mexican food and of course Dannay’s Donuts along with The Tiki Bar, the burgers are delish. So far the only thing I HAVE to go to Galveston for are go to the doctor and pick up prescriptions. Riding the ferry is an adventure in itself. There are so many dolphins that we always enjoy watching them play. I think they are even friskier with the cooler weather! OK, now that I have served as a commercial for the Peninsula, I hope you can tell that living here has been such a joy and I look forward to next year and the changes that will come. I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing what the New Year will bring and hopefully getting to meet many of you.
