Opposites Attract!

by Cindy Clay Srader
Opposites do attract! Look at the colors of the corals in the pictures and then see how they were matted in orange? Blue and Orange are on the opposite sides of the color spectrum which makes them look great together. If you are a computer Wiz, the internet is the perfect place to find clip art of shells and any sea life you are looking for. Anything that is black can be changed to a color. These pictures may have started as black prints and then the color changed on the computer before they were printed out! A very inexpensive way to decorate and fit into your color scheme! Notice the dark wall behind the table and pictures. This would be too dark for most of us but an accent wall in any color you choose would make this setting pop. The Parsons table is very simple and painted white to stand out even more on the darker walls. Extra seating is always welcome and the beautiful ottomans can be pulled out for when you have more guests than usual. This could also be used as a sofa table. The combination of the natural as an accent in the vase and the books on the table make this a very pleasing tableau! If I have done nothing this year but spark that creative feeling in you, I feel that I have done my job! Please try to take these basic ideas and make them your own.

HOW TO” … Make New Years unforgettable!

One of the best things about living at the beach is the glorious fireworks that start at Christmas and keep going through the new years. We have such wonderful weather that sitting on the porch is all the entertainment we need. A crock pot meal, good friends, and great libations will make a wonderful time for all. Don’t forget your black eyed peas at midnight! I serve them in a small cup so everyone gets a taste and good luck for the following year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
