There’s nothing wrong with being short. Some people call it “height challenged.” At my house it seems everything was built for tall people. For this reason, I have to tell my husband when a light burns out because he’s stored all the light bulbs up high above the washer. That’s okay. When I bake a cake, I have to ask him to pull down the cake stand and cover from the top shelf of the pantry. It’s a way for all of us to become involved. This way he feels like he’s had a hand in preparing dessert.
Randy Newman wrote a song a while back, it bordered on being downright rude.
That stand so low
You got to pick ‘em up
Just to say Hello
We actually do seem to complement each other from time to time. Sometimes, he can’t find stuff at my level, like the refrigerator or the normal shelves in the pantry. That’s when I come to the rescue.
Don’t forget – December 21st is Short Girl Appreciation Day – it’s also the shortest day of the year.

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
I love it! My credo is, “Always let the one who does something better, do it.” Therefore tall people can take care of all those hard to reach things.
Also, short people often are tall inside where it really matters. They have big brains because the air is thicker near the ground. (That is how they get tall people to do more work.) They rarely have to lead people into battle. In addition, short people are CUTE!
