Take Me Out to the Ballgame (Again)

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
All eighteen of us met up the other night at Minute Maid for game 2 of the series with Baltimore. We took up practically two rows at the end of the first base line. Kyle Tucker played outfield right out there in front of us. He had his own cheering squad from all the boys in our group, from ages 4 through 20. Most of us dragged out our Astros shirts, some vintage, some new. It was a Wednesday night, but NOT a $dollar dog$ night. Before going to a game, you need to get it into your head This is not going to be an inexpensive outing! My hot dog, granted it was a super long one, was over $8. A bag of peanuts was $10. Oh, but they tasted so good! I used to get a Shiner Bock, but they don’t sell those anymore, so I got a Crawford Bock, equally as good. For someone who only has approximately one beer a year with my hotdog, and it’s usually at an Astros game, I was in Heaven!

The Astros came out pretty shaky at first, I think we walked 4 people in the first inning, it was the longest inning in history. They finally eased into the game and ended up with a 4-2 score – Orioles. [Nothing like Sunday night’s game where Altuve hit a walk off 3-run home run against the Yankees beating the Yankees 8-7.]

That’s okay, we had a grand time!

P.S. I can’t remember the last time we went to an Astros game, but one dead giveaway is that we were rooting for Bergman, if that’s any indication. We had season tickets. The little 8-year old boy in back of us yelling “Right here Yance!”
