Rollover Pass Fishing Report

Rollover Pass is considered one of the premier fishing spots on the upper Texas coast, and this weekly report gives a rundown of what is being caught.

Rollover Pass is located in Gilchrist, Texas, on the Bolivar peninsula, approx. 20 miles from the Bolivar ferry landing. The Tejas SUMMER is definitely upon us with its baking heat, but how lucky we are to be on the coast where the sea breeze keeps us a bit cooler. Night-shift anglers are taking advantage of the cooler night-time trout action where it’s hit or miss on catching limits or going home with just a few. Day-shift anglers are also using the cooler mornings

A great week of fishing at Rollover last week that saw several 10 and 9lb speckled trout caught and released with the surf finally warming up to the action. Fishing action produced excellent trout and red catches in the beginning of the week but took a serious dive when the weekly storms barged through to roil the surf once again. As of Sunday, the surf and tides are clearing, improving the fishing action. Hopefully, these staccato storm systems will cease and allow our Spring fishing action to normalize.
