Deliver the Goods

By Georgia Osten
Our trip out of town began at 8am on Sunday morning. This was the day we were to meet half way to deliver Texas and Knight to our San Antonio family. Texas is a nine year old yellow lab with some arthritis problems and Knight is her nag of a brother, he’s maybe two, black as coal, with endless energy. He and Maezy are a good match for each other. Knight fetches the tennis ball and Maezy takes it away from him when he brings it back up to the deck.

In preparation for their long trip overseas, they are going through some rigorous medical regimens and precautions to ensure they won’t be bringing rabies with them. They have appointments at Brooks in San Antonio this week. The San Antonio relatives will be getting them to their appointments.

We didn’t think we would, but we sure do miss them. We’ve only had them exclusively for about 3 weeks, but it’s been long enough to get into a routine. Three dogs is no easy task. We think Maezy is missing them as well. She’s been looking all over the house and at night time, she is in a quandary of where to sleep. She expects them to go out with her for the last pit stop, she hardly wants to go by herself.

We’ll make the switch again this weekend. We haven’t told Maezy yet, it’s going to be a surprise.
