Lazy D&D RV Resort opens

We have been watching it since January when the heavy equipment started digging the canals. On the north side of Hwy 87, across from the Golf Course, Lazy D&D RV Resort has been taking shape. David Altemus and his wife Debra are the D&D, but neither of them are lazy. They have been working very hard to turn their piece of undeveloped land into a premier RV resort. With several RV destinations on the peninsula, they knew they needed something extra to draw RV travelers to their property.

The Lazy D&D RV Resort has 37 canal-front RV spaces, each with satellite TV and WiFi, and a beautiful swimming pool to attract visitors. The clubhouse houses a laundromat, showers, and nice upper deck with a view of the gulf and the bay.

After calling every place in Galveston months before our Spring Break trip we were frustrated to find no place with an opening. Two weeks before were suppose to leave I started working my way north calling every RV park. I explained we had young boys and dogs and needed a place with a pool and near the beach. I was happy to find several other RV park owners suggested Lazy D. They were able to take our reservation and had open spots near the playground and pool. The bonus was finding out every spot was on a canal. When we arrived we were even more surprised as the canoes, paddle boats and even the crab cages were free to use during our trip. $180 for spring break week and they aren’t nickel and diming for every little thing. They even allowed the dogs to run off the leash on the island since no one was booked at those sites. The owners are dog lovers and kid lovers and weren’t overbearing with a million rules. The canal is stocked with fish and crab so my husband just relaxed every night with a beer in one hand and a pole in the other.

Lazy D&D is by far the best RV resort on bolivar! This is our second year to stay. The owners
are very friendly and accommodating. The pool and playground are very nice and the kids love
To kayak in the canal. There is ample parking and the park is well maintained. It’s close to the
ferry for those Galveston excursions. I highly recommend a stay as I’m sure you will agree.

My family and I just spent a wonderful 7 days with the Lazy D & D. We are already planning a trip back next year. Absolutely a family friendly and fun filled RV Park. Such a warm, inviting and safe place to stay. Thank you David and Deborah!!!

The RV resort is one of the best around. We can ride our golf cart across the street and go up and down the beach. The pool is so nice and gives us other entainment other than the beach. The laundry room and the bathrooms are decorated just like home. They are so convenient. We are only 7 miles from the ferry that carries us across to Galveston. We can go over to Galveston for the day and come back to our trailer and relax in our on bed. It is so nice to have a RV place that you feel safe and know that there is always a manager on premises to look out for everyones well being. We plan on leaving our trailer there from march thru july.

Greetings, I ‘m a newcomer to pools. We got a new house in wintertime that has a pool area which we found out has not been fixed for more than 24 months. I exposed the pool two weeks ago and have been treating it. It started out with a good amount of algea in the bottom that we cleaned straight out. It’s now lighter green, however it’s not getting much better. I found a business not far away, has anyone come across these people or recommend any others? Affordable Pool Service & Repair, 2942 N 24th St #114, Phoenix, AZ 85016, (602) 910-2295. Any kind of advice will be helpful.
