We’ve been planning this Party for 9 months, we’ve been having one every year for about 10 years now. It’s called the Texas Crab Festival. It’s been happening every Mother’s Day Weekend going on 38 years now! This weekend, we took some time out from our busy lives to attend a niece’s wedding. It was in the hill country just outside a little town called Spicewood. We stayed at the Bee Cave Sonesta Hotel. On the way home Sunday, we got a call from the Sonesta telling us we had left a few things at the hotel. We looked at each other and said at the same time “the closet!” Yep, left all our fancy clothes in the closet. I guess we’re just not used to trying to be Fancy. Neither one of us remembered to check the closet when we were packing up. Oh well, the Sonesta will send us our stuff back on our dime (of course).
Back at home, I tackled taking my TABC (2 HOUR COURSE). Finished, got my certificate and sent it over to Gladys, who is heading up the beer booth. I like to have it just in case I’m needed to step in to relieve anyone.
Vendors! Yep, we’ve got vendors, more than ever! I thought we were through, I’ve been telling new inquirers we’re full. So, today, I got an email from someone I talked to last week. I sent them the application last week and they were just now going through the drill of getting their liability insurance and sending me a check. Oh dear, I’m not sure what the “chief” is going to say when he gets home … I guess he’ll find a way to fit them in. He always does.
I hope you make it out to the Festival to see us. There’s a lot of great people putting this Party on. Come out and enjoy. We’ll have some wonderful entertainment, great food and a bunch of wonderful Vendors. There’s dancing and washer tournaments and corn hole tournaments. If you forget to bring your chair, you can purchase one there over by the T-Shirt pavilion. Speaking of, don’t forget to get your 2023 Crab Festival T-Shirt, there’s plenty of colors to choose from. Heck, get a cap to match!
I need to close out now, I have to prepare my clip boards for the Silent Auction. The Silent Auction will be over by the T-Shirt pavilion, come take a look at what we’ve got.
