Mardi Gras Crystal Beach!

Laissez les bons temps rouler
Oh, what a party! I’ve never seen such a crowd. It certainly wasn’t the Balmy Weather that brought out the crowds. I guess it was a bit warmer than the weather we had all week prior to the parade, but the wind kept up a pretty brisk blow. We arrived at Margaritaville a bit late, since we’ve done this a time or two before. We knew that when we arrived, we’d have plenty of time to decorate our golf cart with beads.

We paraded in the Crab Fest Raffle Golf Cart, as usual. We had the crab on top of the cart and our advertisement strapped to the back. We packaged the doggie treats ahead of time, I had 70 snack bags of treats and Cheryl thinks she had at least 50 bags. The koozies sponsored by Seaside Lumber advertising 2023 Texas Crab Festival were bagged and ready to throw. Vicky drove because her right arm is still recovering from shoulder surgery, but she held on to the wheel and threw with her left arm. Cheryl sat in the back between beads and bags. We had to be sure she was still on every time we took off.

We did alright on beads and koozies, we actually had some left by the time we reached Gregory Park. But, the doggie treats ran out way before we got to Crystal Beach Plaza.

Everyone and their dog(s) were at the parade. All breeds represented. Some viewed the parade from their truck bed, but most were out on the street with their friends. Everyone, including the canines, were excited to get a Milk Bone or two.

Note to self: Next year, double the doggie treats!
