Swinging for Success

Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament Benefits Local Schools
The Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament teed off on Saturday under sunny and breezy skies, drawing 54 eager golfers. Teams were randomly drawn the night before, each comprising an A-B-C-D player, making for an exciting Calcutta auction prior to a spirited day of golf.

Before hitting the greens, players enjoyed breakfast tacos at registration, fueling up for a day of friendly competition. The day kicked off with a putting contest, won by Marty Rogers, setting the tone for the day’s action.

At 9:00 AM, the tournament commenced with 11 teams participating in a shotgun start, accompanied by three non-competing sponsor teams. On-course contests added extra excitement, including closest to the pin, a long drive competition, and the thrilling $25,000 hole-in-one challenge.

As golfers made their way through the course, photos of each team were snapped at hole #1, capturing the memorable moments. A beverage cart ensured everyone stayed refreshed throughout the day.

With prize money and bragging rights on the line, the competition was fierce. While scorecards were tallied, participants enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch. Ultimately, the winning team emerged with an impressive 12 under par score, claiming both prize money and bragging rights.

The event’s success was made possible by the generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic golfers who came together to support a worthy cause. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit local schools, making it a win-win for the community and the golf enthusiasts who took part. Thanks to all involved for a fantastic day of golf and community spirit.
