Thank You, Educators

Bay Vue Methodist Church and Second Going Resale Store honored Bolivar Peninsula educators as they began the 2023 school year. Second Going gifted each teacher with $500 and $100 to other employees and also $3000 to High Island and Crenshaw schools. Teachers will be able to buy what their individual students need, and schools can provide more resources for all pupils.

Bay Vue Methodist Church held a Teacher Appreciation Service on Sunday, August 20. Music, poetry, Biblical verse and Pastor Valarie Hudson’s sermon extolled the virtues of teaching. Elinor Tinsley explained the volunteer reading program provided by Bay Vue Methodist Women. Crenshaw principal Tracie Camp and teachers received gifts. Pastor Hudson prayed a special blessing for attending educators.

Everyone gathered for food and fellowship in Fellowship Hall following Sunday’s service. An addition for this special Sunday event was one of Elaine Rollfing’s famous and delicious lemon cakes. Bay Vue Methodist Women will again provide snacks for Crenshaw workers throughout the year. Our peninsula is indeed blessed to have great teachers, staff and crew in our public schools. They provide hope for our future by teaching skills and much more to the youth of Pt. Bolivar, High Island and Crystal Beach. We are most grateful for these dedicated professionals.

Our dedicated teachers, staff and crew Not only create dreams. THEY make dreams come true!
