Treasures of the Texas Coast

2024 Adopt-A-Beach Children’s Art Contest Winners!
Each year, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) invites all Texas students in grades K-6 to participate in the Annual Children’s Art Contest. Artwork is based on the theme “Treasures of the Texas Coast” and should depict why the Texas coast is important or special to the student. The purpose of this contest is to encourage young artists to learn about natural resources along the Texas Coast.

Of the 40 overall winners, 5th grader Ivan Fang of Katy was selected to win the Grand Prize. Ivan’s teacher, HongLiang Huang, will also receive a prize package. Ivan’s artwork features a crab carrying a NASA shuttle, a cityscape and a sign announcing, “It’s Time to Travel.”
