“What a Wonderful World this Would Be”

By Georgia Osten
My favorite hands down! I started out watching the Super Bowl LVII, just because it was on. I didn’t really care who won, so I thought that would be a pretty good attitude to just sit and enjoy the game. The National Anthem by Chris Stapleton was fantastic! If I could capture that feeling and tribute in a bottle and sell it?!? There was not a dry eye in the whole stadium or in our house!

Philadelphia, got the ball first and scored a TD in what seemed like the first seconds. Good Job! I found myself getting up when there were breaks for commercials. Then, I remembered, “that’s the main reason why I watch the Super Bowl year after year.” In fact, I think I’ve written about it before. I get so darned amused with the commercials. That’s not to say I understand each and every one of them. Some are just not geared for my generation anymore.

But, here’s what I noticed when the game began. There was this young pretty girl who squirted gatorade in each player’s mouth. I thought, well, that’s the gig I’d want IF I was still YOUNG and PRETTY. Oh well …

I loved the game, but don’t get me wrong, I lived for the commercials. I loved how evenly talented each team was. And, I heard somewhere, both quarterbacks are from Texas. Growing up in Texas, where high school football is the Crème de la Crème, I know a thing or two about football. You don’t go to a 4A high school back in the day in Texas and not appreciate the thrill and excitement of football!

As I stated previously, my favorite commercial was “What a Wonderful World this Would Be.” “He Gets Us, All of us!” As soon as I saw this, I decided this was what my Sand Bucket would be about. It seems like that was THE Favorite, because when I googled Super Bowl 2023 commercials, that’s the first one that came up.

Others I could understand and loved:
The Farmer’s Dog
Disney 100
John Travolta for T-Mobile
Sketchers – Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart

Rihanna’s, half-time, gorgeous! Loved how vivacious and pregnant, getting out there making her moves, what a trooper.

And, what about the Navy flyover!?! The event honored 50 years since women were allowed to be US Navy pilots.

I hope you had a chance to enjoy this spectacular event. Makes me want tickets to the next one.
Guess I’d better start saving now.
