Very Small Cook Off

What fun we had this past week at our church’s annual chili cook off. This is a little different than most, but it is fun and for a good cause. This year, we had 22 participants and everyone brought goodies to go with their chili. The purpose for our outing is to help where help is needed. Let me explain. As you can see from the picture, Father is explaining the purpose of the jelly jars. If you like this chili, put money in the jar and you can like and contribute to as many jars as you want. Everyone goes around and tries as many chilies as they want. We had “real” judges too, not church members. Once the best three chilies were chosen, awards were given and all funds were collected. 1st place winner chose the charity that all the funds would go to. It was a great few hours to help many needy people, and a time to get off the couch.

The pictures are our priest, Father David, and my friends from down the street.

The churches on Bolivar are small and this could be a fun way to assist families in need. It could even be your bunko group.

Have a great week. I am in Cancun soaking up sun and fun at my Granddaughter’s wedding. Don’t growl at me.
