Whitmer Cruises; O’Brien Back on Track, Mitchell Improving

Ageless veteran Dennis Whitmer returned to Par 3 action Tuesday winning first place over a resurgent Mike Mitchell and choking Mike VanZandt. Head golf pro Mike Mitchell has seen a marked improvement in his game lately. Mitchell said “I’m hoping this latest surge will earn me a “B” Player spot in the next tournament. I’m tired of my teammates having to carry me.”

Six Ranch regulars returned to Chambers County Wednesday with winds gusting to 40 mph. Their scores certainly reflected the conditions. Shannon O’Brien was the only golfer in the 80’s with an 88, followed by Dennis Whitmer at 90, Mike VanZandt at 92, Mike Mitchell and Mike Comeaux with 94’s, and David Buchanan at 96. In lieu of the fact that his game had been in such disarray recently that he sought help from Head Golf Pro Mike Mitchell, O’Brien win was all the more surprising. Mike Comeaux turned in an interesting round. He had one birdie and ZERO PARS on his card Wednesday.
