I want to be Linda Elissalde when I grow up. As you probably know, because Linda tells you all year when her birthday is, but in case you don’t know, our dear friend, Linda is going to be 83 years old on Valentine’s Day. Linda considers the entire month of February her birthday, but she shared last week with me because I had my “Medicare” birthday on the 6th. (65)
I aspire to have the mental sharpness, the boundless energy, the wit, the plethora of ideas and the abundance of generosity that my friend Linda Elissalde has when/if I am able to grow up to be 83. I met Linda late in life when I moved to Crystal Beach permanently 7 years ago at a water aerobics class. (Which she still does along with regular aerobics). We have found in each other kindred spirits and I pray we have many more years together to share our love of so many different things and ideas.
I wanted to find the perfect gift for my friend, who’s life and heart are already so full, so I couldn’t think of anything better thank publicly giving her multitudes of praise for the beautiful friendship she has given me and to others and for all of her work in so many ways to keep Bolivar beautiful. Thank you Linda.
