Michael Feighan and Whitecross were able to perform at Crystal Beach because of Minh Tran head of Paradise Park at Camp Margaritaville. It looked as if high tides would capsize plans for this highly anticipated free concert held by Community Church, April 8, on the beach. Instead, thanks to Mr. Tran, folk enjoyed a marvelous, musical extravaganza performed on stage at Margaritaville. Even the weather cooperated.
Michael has been an on-demand drummer for many groups. He was a presence at Community Church in Crystal Beach. A member of Christian rock band Whitecross, Michael ranked as on one of the top 10 drummers in Christian music. Whitecross performed in the United States, South America and Europe and won three Dove Awards. Dove awards are accolades given annually by the Gospel Music Association of the United States.
Michael was finally led to come out from behind his drums. This quiet, humble man began writing and performing his own music based on life experiences. (Rod Stewart has a voice similar to Michael’s.) Mr. Feighan’s family joined together to bring Christian faith, love and happiness to others. Daughter Tatiana learned to play drums and taught children’s church classes. His beautiful wife Christie, with her liturgical dancing, brought spiritual light to religious services. Christie supported her husband in his endeavors and added brightness wherever she went. Sadly, she lost her brave battle with cancer. She went to join the angels dancing in Heaven. Christie is gone, but left a legacy of love to those still here.
First up Michael entertained by singing some songs by Rod Stewart, Elton John and his own compositions. Tami Cooper along with Michael & FRIENDS brought their talents to the stage with several numbers. These included, “I Still Believe” and my favorite, “Someone Prayed”. He introduced a new song in honor of his beloved Christie titled, “Joy”. Michael shared his deep faith in God. He completed his part of the presentation to the enthusiast sound of a standing ovation. Next up was the world renown prize winning band Whitecross. Michael sat back behind those drums. He looked right at home. Whitecross along with Michael will soon be touring again.
Sometimes there are exquisite moments in time where all comes perfectly together. Such was true of Michael and Whitecross. The place, the weather, the light, the music merged to create one perfect moment. Surely, AN ANGEL WAS DANCING IN HEAVEN!
