BP Lions serve the suds

By Georgia Osten
The Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club (BPLC) was asked to chair and manage the Beer Booth, stocked by Del Papa Budweiser. Budweiser products were plentiful, such as Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Bud Light Lime, Budweiser Red and Landshark! Oh my goodness! What a fantastic crew of professionals. My buddy, Keith – Hat’s Off to You – my Right Hand Man. Keith and his crew (hello Sue) stocked beer and ice at the mere nod of a head – that group is on it!

The Lions Club beer booth team came together by soliciting volunteers via email, meetings, and just word of mouth. I think we had more volunteers than any other booth on site. And, we did have a blast! Working this close together for 14 hours straight can be a real bonding experience. Mark brought his Firecrackers, these super hot and spicy crackers – On The House! We were located directly across from the stage, what a perfect spot! Sometimes the noise was so loud, our customers would have to point to their beer of choice.

I can’t say enough about the crowds and the uplifting joy of serving all these Happy People (especially, once the sun came out). Our BPLC folks cannot wait to have fun with you next year, we appreciate ALL your support, the generous donations to the Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club, Giving Back to The Community, We Serve!

Is there any chance of getting them to serve some different brands of beer next year? What about letting Miller and Bud sponsor the beer booth in alternating years?
