Burn Ban for Unincorporated Galveston County

On Tuesday, July 9th, 2013, the Commissioners’ Court of Galveston County, Texas voted to institute a ban restricting outdoor burning for all unincorporated areas of the county. The ban is effective immediately and will be in place for the next ninety (90) calendar days unless lifted earlier by a subsequent order of the Commissioners’ Court. The burn ban includes all open fires. Cooking in a barbecue pit or grill is acceptable. Fireworks are permitted under this ban.

Violation of the ban is a Class C Misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
