Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy

Sheriff Henry Trochesset announced today his staff is gearing up to host the Galveston County Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy’s 16th session in September 2013. The Academy is an interactive learning experience for citizens, providing them a detailed look into the operations of the Sheriff’s Office. Over the 12-week course, attendees are offered opportunities to experience firsthand the responsibilities and functions of the Sheriff’s Office.

This session joins the fifteen previous classes that have graduated over 600 citizens. Participants are able to join the Galveston County Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association, a group actively involved in supporting the Sheriff’s Office and participating in a variety of community events throughout the entire county. Graduates from our Academy are not only armed with knowledge about how law enforcement agencies truly work but become our partners in developing stronger links with the communities we serve. They are an important key in helping us understand the community and problems our communities face.

The Citizen Sheriff’s Academy is free and will be held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM starting September 3rd, 2013. The CSA will be held at the Joe Max Taylor Law Enforcement Center located at 601 54th St, Galveston, Texas.
