It keeps you young!

By Georgia Osten
There’s nothing like the beach on a good ol’ Christian holiday weekend! Family and friends flock to the beach to soak up the goodness. I had the pleasure of having our son visit for the weekend and I recruited him to help me out with the Lions, serving at the Stingaree Easter Buffet. What a trooper, he wore his Dad’s vest at my request. Matthew and I finished serving, greeting and bussing tables at the Easter Buffet and zipped home just in time for the arrival of the North Carolina kiddos. Mommy and 3 of our youngest grandchildren arrived before noon on Easter Sunday. They left their home at 3am Sunday morning for their plane ride out of Raleigh to get to Texas for a 3 week vacation. This big empty house is now bulging at the seams with life and activity. The 5 year old and the 2 year old are up and down the stairs constantly, playing in the golf cart (minus keys), watering Grandma’s garden, swinging on the swings. We leave the swings up all year long, just imagining the return of these precious Grandbabies! We take turns holding Baby Dax, 1-1/2 months old, sweet sweet baby, so happy, so peaceful, not a care in the world, just smell the goodness – I’m convinced, it keeps you young! My Cup Runneth Over …

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
