This past week was fun and a learning experience. Josie is Chris’ youngest daughter from another marriage and is the sweetest (very tall) girl I have ever met. She is 14 and is into band of any kind. She is in four types of band classes and loves every minute. She is beautiful and very dramatic, of course she is, she is 14! I love her and have a wonderful time with her. We laugh and chat about lots of stuff and most of it is kept to ourselves.
Wednesday, we took off for Galveston to walk the Strand and drive down the seawall. Of course, we rolled down the windows to hear the waves coming in and smell the salt air. It has been several years since I have done this and I must say it brought back many memories. To be honest with you, I wanted to call a mover and say bring my stuff. Life is not that easy.
Off we went to The Strand, parked and started down one side and up the other. There were very few things we did not try on. Some things made us laugh and some took off and wondered why we ever considered them. We had lunch at Yaga’s. Josie was wise and enjoyed a hamburger and fries and I had a new addition to the menu. It was a salad, I think? I did recognize the small pieces of chicken, but the rest was not something I would like a second time.
After lunch, we continued walking on the other side of the street. I was having a great time and Josie was beginning to tire. So many new shops and so much to see. I gave in with disappointment, but with the satisfaction that I had outlasted a 14-year old. Thank you Lord!
