Maezy’s First Birthday

GO_1111By Georgia Osten
She’s as cute as her name – still looks like a puppy, which is fine with us! She was actually a Christmas present to me last year. Not unlike the Christmas present presented to me back in 2001. My Christmas gift was a Treasure Hunt. From room to room we went to uncover another clue, until finally the clues led us to the toy box where the puppy was hidden, and SO happy to be let out! That was Ruby (RIP 7-10-13).

We often call Maezy Ruby, but that’s only a term of endearment. My husband, who is a “born again dog lover,” now prepares a scrambled egg each morning for Maezy, mixed in with her regular dog food, a hold-over from Ruby. This is, of course, after they’ve taken a golf cart ride down to the beach. All these things, not to be done out of sequence, are what Maezy looks forward to each morning.

If you’re ever lucky enough to be adopted by such a loving creature – You’re Lucky! You know what? They’re always happy to see you, they don’t carry a grudge, they LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
