Monday morning

Yes, I’m retired, but Monday still seems like a day at work…and that’s not a bad thing. This Monday morning, as I sit at my computer writing stories for tomorrow’s publication of CBLN, I’m reminded of all those Monday mornings I would stumble into work after a busy fun-filled weekend at the beach, sitting down at my desk and feeling the relaxation of not having to do anything but sit and stare at my computer. Now that we live here permanently, our social calendar seems to fill up on the weekends and spill over into the week as well. Friday night we travelled to Sugar Land for a party and came back late that night, Saturday was a family birthday party to go to, and yesterday was a BBQ over at the Brint Barn for the Crab Festival Volunteers. Then, as I cruised the beach after the BBQ, there were the Sandy Shores gang beckoning passersby to join them for more Sunday-gathering festivities and just good ol’ sitting, chatting and enjoying adult beverages. Just goes to prove my theory, everything’s better at the beach!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
