Peanut Butter Mad

As the family grows, it’s a necessity to capture the new additions, so every year or so, we (the family) try to get together for “picture day.” Each family goes through the pains of getting ready, ironing the necessary white or blue shirt, trying to keep everyone neat and clean as we adventure to the designated photo spot. As my daughter is putting the final touches on her youngest, my son-in-law figures he can grab a quick bite, a bagel with a little peanut butter slaved on it. Oops, as he’s wiping the glob of peanut butter off his shirt, my daughter rounds the corner. Oh my goodness! Off comes the shirt, she heads back to the ironing board to prepare another shirt for the big baby. Needless to say, it wasn’t easy getting people to “say cheese” for this photo session.

Recently, same family, my oldest granddaughter had to borrow her Mom’s sunglasses while she was playing one of her tournament softball games. Good game, they all drive home, exhausted. As Mom is pulling into the garage, she turns to Emma, asking “where are my sunglasses?” Oops, Emma tells her Mom she left them hanging on the fence at the ball park. “Emma, get out of the car, go get in the shower, RIGHT NOW!” Mom squeals out of the driveway on her way back to the park to find her glasses. In the meantime, Dad arrives home and asks “where is Mom?” Grant is quick to report that Mom had to go back to the ball park to find her glasses and she’s “Peanut Butter Mad!”

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
