The Biggish Bolivar Beach Report

Spring Break ’24 Edition … Let the Games Begin!
By J. Lee Austin
It’s been a quiet few winter months here on the peninsula, which I guess is to be expected for a destination geared toward summer vacations at the beach. Duh. It has been nice to be able to get acquainted with more of the local folks, who are some of the friendliest and genuine people you will find anywhere. Of course we love the tourists, too. They certainly make the place come alive during the season, making our old hometown seem a tad boring, sorry John 😉

Beginning this month and lasting until Labor Day, the peninsula will be anything but boring. Currently on deck is Spring Break, which will inject a lot of energy into the atmosphere, not to mention the much needed tourist dollars that are the life blood of that whole beach-based economy thing. It’s a win-win situation, however you peck and dice it. So y’all c’mon on down, ya hear? 😎🐬

That being said, the growth here is exponential, which will eventually make a more balanced, year-round economy a certainty in my humble opinion. The infra-structure has fallen behind the growth in some categories, but the activity now in progress in playing catch-up is rather impressive.

To wit, two new power stations currently under construction are going to provide quite a jolt to the place. Sorry couldn’t resist.

Kim and I continue the happily-ever-after RV lifestyle, which never seems to have a dull moment. Our newest friends are 25 year old entrepreneurs full-timing it in their 5th wheel, with their cuter-than-cute 3 year-old Hawaii-born munchkin in tow. Super fun folks, inspirational even.

On the medical science front, I now have a good microscope which I am using primarily for Live Blood Analysis or LBA. We are happy to report that all of the friends and family we have tested are negative for nano-tech, so far. We are also doing drug and food sampling as well as environmental/atmospheric checks. I am teaching LBA as well, so let me know when you get a scope of your own! 👁🩸👁

The new microscope doesn’t seem to be compatible with the desktop Mac OS, so I am unable to transmit images, grrrr. Fear not dear readers, we will figure it out … which probably means another scope. Happy Birthday Johnny!

Our good friend Steven, aka Sharkman, is pleased to announce the soon-to-be filming of his all-new upcoming show called Texas Shark Wranglers. This is going to be ton of fun, and should help bring in business to his charter service called Gulf Coast Yakers. Steven is also launching his new Jet-ski based charter fishing service, Xtreme PWC Rentals, www.xtremepwcrentals.com.

So that’s what’s up … down here. I’m still very much a novice learning how this whole Substack thing works, so if you guys have any questions, comments or suggestions, please let me know. The Good Help Network is after all, just people talking to and helping each other out.

As our world goes Full Clown, everybody’s local networks are looming large, more crucial than ever. Tell us about your network; we would love to hear from all of you. Send me your topics of interest and I will write about them with considerable authority or just make stuff up. Delicious either way!

I hope everyone is getting that garden going! 🤙🏼🐸
