The More the Merrier

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
How crazy is this? Saturday was our first trip of the year to the beach! For goodness sakes! We had a houseful and nothing to do on a Saturday. PawPaw loaded everything in the trailer, all the chairs, washer boards, kiddie toys, and canopies. The ladies made sandwiches for everyone, and we brought all varieties of chips, and of course, a cooler full of drinks of all sorts. Oops, all set up and realized we forgot the kayaks and boogie boards.

What a beautiful day, everyone took turns on the kayaks. The water was gorgeous, almost like a lake. The beach was packed with all sorts having fun, riding their crazy vehicles up and down like a parade. Music blasting from each one. All in all, folks were pretty well-behaved. I’m sure we left before the crowds get crazy.

I read we’re under a burn ban, but you would never know by the displays coming from the beach later on into the evening. So sorry for all the Pyro vendors out there, you’ll be missed.

I think the pool has spoiled us, we’re just much too satisfied to stay at home, a cooler near by and all the comforts of home. When the kids aren’t playing Marco Polo in the pool, the adults float around under the shade of the umbrellas. All in all, a pretty relaxed time was had by all. Ribs and potato salad, and Leigh brought us a key lime pie from Water Oak House in Pasadena. You need to google her menu, the pies are to die for!

Next morning, we all trucked over to La Playita, a table for 14 for Father’s Day breakfast.

Happy Father’s Day to all you well-deserving Dads out there, we love and appreciate you all!
