A Trip off the Bucket List

We have not traveled in years, literally since 2016, and that’s too long. When I was young Mom and Dad and I took a trip to Miami, you know down old Hwy 90. I can honestly say, after this trip, Mom and I did not speak or ride with Dad for two weeks. But that is not what this story is about. Along the way, we crossed the Mississippi River and I saw my first Paddle Boat and fell in love with the history of the boats.

Finally, after sixty years, my dream is coming true. We are heading for Memphis to paddle down the Mississippi to New Orleans. I’ll try to write along the way all the fun we will have.

But first, I need to tell my friend Laura, “you have the right to be disappointed in me.” Yes, we are taking two carry-ons but you would think we had a steamer trunk going in the bottom of the plane. In fact, they may make us leave the heavy thing on the tarmac because we are flying a commuter plane to Memphis.

Half the weight is batteries for RR’s breathers, but that is ok. The other half is too much clothes, but you never know when two messy people will spill something.

RR is mowing the lawn and I am supposed to be finishing the packing, I am just too excited to say more. Have a great week and I’ll send pictures.
