The Rockets Red Glare

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
The gang began rolling in around Thursday morning. By Sunday, we had a full house plus two more – The more the merrier! Saturday night, Driftwood put on a fireworks show to beat all fireworks shows. We’re normally pretty immune to fireworks, but this one drew us all out of the house. We didn’t let the rain dampen our spirits. The trailer stayed packed with pop-ups, chairs, washer boards and life jackets the whole weekend. The water was beautiful, clean and green. Everyday was a Beach Day, then a dive into the pool. Sunday didn’t start out very pretty, but we said “to heck with it.” Scared the rain away.

We did our fair share of brightening the sky, using up a lot of the stash from the fireworks closet. But, on Sunday, when the older grands appeared, they all went up to PyroShack to stock up on some more. Dick and Debbie put together our regular order, but the grands splurged on some really upscale cakes and artillery, roman candles and of course, sparklers.

It was a grand weekend for all.
God Bless America
