What goes around comes around.

I’m referring to traditions … “My Cup Runneth Over!”
Many years ago, when Leigh went away to college and Kelly and I missed her terribly, is when we became so much closer. We would watch our favorite movies together over and over. We’d get dressed up and go to plays and our favorite event, the Nutcracker Ballet during the Christmas season. Last year, we took my youngest granddaughter, Kelly’s daughter, for the first time. Oh my goodness, to see the ballet through the eyes of Addyson, a 3 year old, priceless! My two daughters, my two granddaughters and my daughter-in-law all went together to a matinee in downtown Houston. This year, Kelly took her daughter to a production in Raleigh, NC. Leigh and I will take Emma when we return from North Carolina after Christmas.

Another tradition, these yummy, crazy Christmas cookies we’ve been baking for years. The recipe came out of a small Pillsbury magazine, one you pick up at the register at the grocery store. The pages are so fragile now, I keep it in a zip lock bag. My oldest granddaughter, Emma, the one who loves to cook, told me the other day that it was time to make those “jelly cookies.” So, Sunday, I took all the ingredients over to Emma’s and we, actually she, lovingly made her first batch of “jelly cookies.” They disappeared quicker than she could pull another tray from the oven. Emma assured me she’ll make more for our National Lampoon Christmas trip to NC in a few weeks.

P.S. If you see an old lady strapped to the top of an RV, just wave, I’ll be havin’ a great time!
